ABOUT ME
Liudvika Sonia Koort is a contemporary artist whose practice moves between sculpture, relief and devotional objects. Working primarily with embossed aluminium, wood veneer and freshwater pearls, she creates handcrafted wall works that explore memory, longing and the traces of the sacred within contemporary life.
Rooted in Christian mysticism and an ongoing exploration of the sacred feminine, her work draws inspiration from women saints, biblical stories and devotional traditions. Through delicate materials and meticulous handcraft, she investigates presence, ritual and transformation. Rather than illustrating religious narratives, her works evoke quiet encounters—inviting prolonged attention through surfaces that shift with changing light and reveal themselves gradually over time.
Koort holds an MA in Contemporary Sculpture from the Vilnius Academy of Arts. She lives and works in Lithuania.
