DENSITIES OF AIR

VILNIUS GRAPHIC ART CENRE, 2026

In this exhibition, the gallery spaces become private rooms filled with atmospheres of shifting density. ρ invites visitors to move through an exhibition in which the artworks themselves determine how—and how closely—they may be approached. Entering these spaces becomes not a physical act, but a mode of relation: at times an obstacle, at times anticipation, at times acceptance.

Rather than presenting explicit narratives, the exhibition offers situations in which proximity must be negotiated. Surfaces, reliefs, and material fragments function as structures that do not reveal themselves immediately, but instead demand attention, careful approach, and time.

Here, the density of air is understood as a condition. In some places it is thick, enclosed, and difficult to pass through, carrying the traces of unspoken experience. Elsewhere, by contrast, it operates through fragility, light, distance, and fields of near emptiness, where meaning emerges not from excess, but from silence.

These personal spaces do not become confessions; rather, they are atmospheres that can only ever be entered partially.
