SOUNDS LIKE A SILVER TEA SPOON

Medūza art space, Vilnius, Lithuania, 2024

A joint exhibition of artists Eglė Petrošiūtė and Liudvika Sonia Koort at the art space Medūza.

The exhibition "Sounds Like a Silver Teaspoon” takes its title from a poetic text written by both artists and acts as an open dialogue about the psychology of space and the idea that the spaces we shape eventually begin to shape us.

According to curator Eglė Agnė Benkunskytė, although E. Petrošiūtė and L. S. Koort operate as separate artists, their meeting in the main hall of “Medūza” reveals common threads of their work. "The motif of the garden as a space for the creation of cosmologies is an important one in this exhibition," notes the curator, "In Lithuanian mythology, the garden marks a liminal space where the cycles of nature and the cultural endeavour of man meet, and the artists explore this tension through sculpture, textile, drawing, video art, sound and installation."
